Growing Up

In life, do we really have a choice not to Grow up? It has been abreast with  our evolution from day 1 and will seize after our demise which is arguably a topic for another day because you can 'grow up' into another realm.

The tablets of Moral have been passed from generations and does not have any exceptions for dependants. Can you dare to ask if you can do without greeting people you didn't like or leave the chores for your elders to do? As you ponder, you have freedom of speech but safety afterwards might be compromised...

The wages of disobedience was not negotiable because your paycheck were handed out in forms of assault, punishments such as being grounded, trying to mimic a person picking a pin from the floor without returning to status quo or Which ever works for them.

Did I forget that growing up in some families included the use of  language? The undertone of the messages would herald 'thou shall not use swear words...' You must never curse and definitely no use curse words. But what do i know. This was all in the past. Our generation almost believed this was punishing (suffering) a child because these options were shoved down their throat like when a child refused toeat. As the saying goes, there is a stroke for every folk and this "suffering" was an option for kids.

In the dynamic nature of time, kids have a choice and excesses such as deciding on going to school and talking back at parents to mention afew. When has growing up become less of a responsibility of the parents and more of the dependants? As we breathe a sigh of relief, let this post awaken the zeal to do more and complain less on the phenomenon of growing up...
